Former Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose, is yet to be released from detention despite a bail granted to him by a Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday. Fayose was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as part of an ongoing anti-graft investigation.
According to an investigative report, Fayose has been unable to complete his bail requirements.
One thing left: A bail bond of N50 million from two sureties is yet to be verified. This is one of the conditions that must be fulfilled in order to secure his release. Fayose’s International passports would also be held by the courts which means he would be unable to leave the country pending the determination of his case. Besides the bond being verified by a magistrate, every other bail requirement has been otherwise met.
