Ekiti governor, Ayo Fayose, believes that his deputy and PDP candidate, Kolapo Olusola, would win the July 14th gubernatorial election in the state.
Immediately after the emergence of Fayemi as the flag bearer of APC in the forthcoming governorship election, the governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose, appreciated APC for presenting a candidate that the Ekiti people love voting against.
He shared via his twitter account:
“I thank the APC for giving Ekiti people a candidate they love to vote against at all times. Fayemi should not celebrate this Pyrrhic victory yet because it is nothing but a flame that will be quenched on July 14. He should expect to suffer worse defeat compared to that of 2014”.
Fayose’s response to Fayemi’s primary victory is in stark contrast to how the former governor responded when the PDP chose Olusola as its own candidate.
After the PDP primary, Fayemi put out a statement congratulating Olusola, hailing the deputy governor’s victory “in an orderly and peaceful primary” as “a welcome development.”
Fayemi then said that the APC would give the PDP flag bearer a good fight as “the APC still remains the preferred choice for the generality of Ekiti people.”
