A 14-year old student of Intellectual Giants Christian Academy, Umuahia, Miss Joy Ezechikamnayo, emerged as Abia’s first one-day governor, having emerged as the winner of an essay competition organised in the state. She was sworn-in by the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, on Monday and served for the entirety of the day.
Her executive council comprised of the 19 others who made up the top 10 in the competition, with the first and second runner up serving as deputy governor and secretary to the state government (SSG) respectively.
Her first official assignment was to declare December 12th as Teenager Day in Abia state.
She also inspected the ongoing reconstruction of Aba Road in Umuahia. On that inspection tour, she was conducted around by the permanent secretary of the ministry of works.
Ezechikamnayo was born on 18th March 2003.
