The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Wednesday released the detained Ekiti State Commissioner for Finance, Toyin Ojo and the state’s Accountant General, Yemisi Owolabi – and Governor Ayodele Fayose expressed his joy in an incredible way.
To celebrate the release of the duo, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state declared Thursday, 12th October 2017 as a half-working day for civil servants.
Ojo and Owolabi were arrested by the EFCC on the day Fayose declared his ambition to contest for the presidency over allegations of misappropriating the bail-out funds allocated to the state.
In a statement through his media aide, Lere Olayinka, Fayose said that the release of the duo was “another victory over the APC and their EFCC collaborators” and thus worthy of celebration.
Quote: “Consequently, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has directed that public servants in Ekiti State should work for half day tomorrow so as to enable them to join the governor to give heroic welcome to the Commissioner for Finance and Accountant General. Governor Fayose will be at Fajuyi, Ado Ekiti at 10 am. All lovers of justice should join the governor to welcome our commissioner for Finance and Accountant General back to the State,” the statement read.
