The Zamfara state government has dismissed Justice Musa Anka, a judge in its employ who received a bribe of N200,000 from Zubairu Abdumalik in order to deliver judgement in his favour.
Interesting to note that:
- The National Judicial Council (NJC) had recommended the compulsory removal of Justice Anka since 2011. It took the Zamfara government six years to effect the recommendation.
- Nonetheless, the NJC said in a statement on Monday signed by its director of information, Soji Oye, that it welcomed the sack as a “good development.”
