President Muhammadu Buhari will travel to the United States of America next week, where he is scheduled to address the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
His trip was confirmed by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, who told a national newspaper that he was not certain on the exact date President Buhari will travel, but “he will be there and he will speak.”
The President of Nigeria is listed as number seven on the provincial list of speakers at the UN General Assembly, after the leaders of Brazil, the United States, Guinea, Switzerland, Jordan and Slovakia.
Since he returned to Nigeria three weeks ago, President Buhari has only been at the presidential villa as well as his Daura residence. He has not attended any public event outside the villa and has only managed to preside over one Federal Executive COuncil (FEC) meeting out of a possible three.
