From Kano to Edo to Rivers, APC governors barred from flying into Ekiti for Fayemi’s last rally

By Segun Odeleye

An APC rally scheduled for Ekiti, the last major one for the incumbent governor before Saturday’s poll is facing some hiccups as some notable opposition politicians have allegedly been barred from attending based on orders from Aso Rock.

In Edo and Kano, both Govs Adams Oshiomhole and Rabiu Kwankwaso were denied the rights to land their planes at the Akure airport which is the closest airport to the Ekiti capital.

According to the source, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who also “managed to avoid the airport security, was violently stopped by soldiers from proceeding to Ekiti by road.”

Also yesterday,  the Adamawa governor who was reportedly leaving Yola to avoid being served with a notice of impeachment from the state assembly was barred from using the airport. He reportedly had to move by road to neighbouring Gombe.
